For Granowitz, his passion for law, particularly tort law, had been inspired by his own grandfather, the late Justice Maurice Kaufman. Giving Evan Granowitz the nudge during his graduation from the University of California, Berkeley, Justice Kaufman gifted him with a watch bearing the words “Be worthy”; to Kaufman, gaining personal recognition was far less important than being of service to the community. Evan has kept this advice close to his heart; it is now in full display in his chosen field.
